Qualia reels are designed by the Qualia staff to produce a very high quality reel, at a competitive price.
Qualia staff have been granted over 35 patents on their reels and continue to introduce new models to the Qualia line of products based upon feedback from the fishing community.
The founder of Qualia, Jack Young, spent 43 years designing and building fishing reel components for other companies, starting with ZEBCO, then Abu Garcia, Penn, Mitchell, and many other familiar brands, before starting his own brand, Qualia in 2004.
Qualia Service and Sales was founded in 2015 to establish complete service, sales and marketing based in the USA, including development of new models of Qualia brand fishing reels. Since 2015, Qualia Service and Sales has added five new model reels to the Qualia product line. Qualia Service and Sales staff regularly attend and exhibit at premier boating shows in Florida and other premier events including ICAST. The Qualia product line of reels are exhibited in the Qualia professional booth at these events.
Qualia currently offers 22 models of saltwater fishing reels including, spinning, trolling, spin casting, and specialty reels.
Qualia brand fishing reels have been produced in the same factory in Taiwan since 2004.
Qualia reels are manufactured using high quality aircraft aluminum, 404 stainless steel that is heat treated and in addition treated with two processes to control electrolysis, provide corrosion protection for the conventional gears, shafts, stainless steel fasteners, and brass components. All Qualia spinning reels are also powder coated for a long durable life. The drag material utilized in Qualia reels is either carbon fiber or very high temperature rated Teflon on our larger reels.
Qualia Service and Sales has an extensive inventory of parts to service every reel that Qualia has sold since 2005 at their service facilities in St. Petersburg Florida.
All Qualia reels include a one year parts and labor warranty for normal usage.
We were going to write about our patents and technologies, but then Richard Brock came along and shot this video. Richard is starting a fishing show for one of the cable networks called Hooked On Adventure. He’s a long-time Qualia user. We thought this video said it all. The only problem he had was a broken guide at the tip of the rod. He also had to pour water on the drag to cool it down. Other than that, the Hemi was on the losing end of the line. Do NOT try this at home!
QQualia and Water 4 Fish share a commitment to the conservation of our natural resources, and we agree that huge areas of our coastal environment should not be off limits to responsible fishing.
Water 4 Fish is an organization that represents the interests of fishermen and wildlife supporters as California restructures its water policies. The goal is the recovery of our fisheries in this state.
Water 4 Fish advocates for a more environmentally sustainable water policy that will provide enough water for municipal and agricultural use, as well as improve viable fisheries. If you didn’t know, California has been undergoing a crisis in its offshore and river fisheries, and the state is struggling to find solutions to efficiently use limited water supplies.
California’s water wars have escalated, and Qualia supports Water 4 Fish in its efforts to restore sanity to environmental conflicts.
